Angel is from a small town in upstate New York (Easton). She attended the University of Illinois where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2006 and then graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois Law School in 2009. Angel has practiced law in Mattoon ever since, first as an associate with Tapella & Eberspacher LLC (formerly Hefner, Eberspacher, Tapella, Armstrong, Grove & Britton LLC). She then joined this firm as a partner in February 2020.
Angel is Chair of the ISBA Rural Practice Section Council, Chair of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, a member of Board for the Illinois Bar Foundation, and a member of the Board for the Public Interest Law Initiative. Angel has previously served on the boards of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association, the Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois, and the Eastern Illinois Estate Planning Council. She is a member of the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association, the Vermilion County Bar Association, the Eastern Illinois Women Attorneys Association, and the Champaign County Bar Association.
Angel focuses her practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and guardianships.
Angel resides in Mattoon with her two sons and is a member of the local chapter (Governor Edward Coles – Sally Lincoln Chapter) of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
